Weekly Favourites # 31

At the start of this week I hit the gym hard as I knew I would be heading back home at the weekend, which would involve waaayyy too much delicious food and wine as I have no stop button when it comes to my mum's cooking! I tried some new classes this week as well as my much loved Body Pump and Body Attack. I finally beat my nerves and tried Spinning which was in no way as daunting as I had anticipated and I actually quite enjoyed despite noticing that even my forearms were sweating - nice! I also tried to incorporate a lot more core work into my routine and attended lots of Yoga and Pilates classes to help strengthen and stretch my muscles. Not being at work has really made me think how much easier it is to spend time at the gym. No wonder the yummy mummies always look so beautiful!

The weather has been absolutely beautiful so I have been making the most of it on the various commons. Wednesday was interesting as they were actually hay baling on Wandsworth Common! I never thought I would be in a park in London surrounded my lots of tractors and hay bales! I also ensured I saw lots of friends from work during the days for lunch or brunch and even went to Portobello Market. However, we went on Thursday thinking it was the stylist day and were bitterly disappointed to see no clothes stalls! I also met my school friends at Clapham Common No.32 Old Town as they have heard me rave about it so much and I eventually sampled their various crostinis which were amazing! If you live around SW London then definitely check this bar out as it has a lovely large balcony with olive trees for you to sit and eat at.

Back home my grandparents came round for a BBQ which was nice as they are actually abroad for most of the summer now - lucky things! It was actually my youngest brother's 17th birthday but he was at the top of a volcano in Ecuador so we couldn't even speak to him. Instead we had a delicious BBQ and stayed up late outside playing cards. On Sunday my godmother, her family  and other friends came over for more delicious food and today I saw more family for yet another BBQ! It was the perfect relaxing way to end a very nice week and I am looking forward to doing much the same over the next few days!

Posts this week have included: Everyday Makeup #2 &  Garnier Miracle Skin Cream.

Favourite product: With the sweltering heat I have been constantly using the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Tinted Cream as not only does it offer protection from UVA and UVB it also adds colour to my complexion and acts as a light base. Read full review here.

Favourite post: Everyone knows Rosie from The Londoner has a fab figure despite her eye waveringly good food posts - those burger pictures make my stomach rumble despite just eating dinner! However her recent post Workout hit a few cords: as you know I have been good at hitting the gym recently but doing a few stretches and toning exercises every day is also something I can incorporate. I also really liked her quote by Earl Nightingale: "Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. Time passes anyway." I think this is very true as exercise is always something you put off . I definitely did this and now just wish I had started earlier!

Hope you have all had a good week too!
