Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

This is not a brand that I was familiar with, which for such an avid reader of beauty blogs is strange. It was actually a family friend who recommended it to me. She has had awful skin for years and is on medication from her doctor. Unfortunately this was helping the surface blemishes but appeared to encourage the painful ones that occur under the skin. A dermatologist recommended Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser  and their partnered moisturiser. She had been using it for a few weeks and the difference in her skin is incredible. My skin isn't awful but it isn't great either. It is combination, extremely sensitive and will throw a tantrum at any excuse or given opportunity. Recently I have tried to be more healthy - a gym membership and juicer have been purchased and actually used - but I also have been using this cleanser religiously and there is a remarkable difference.

The Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser can be found either online or under the eczema aisles of Boots, in the pharmacy section. It is an incredibly mild gel formula that feels soothing and nourishing when massaged into your skin. It removes makeup and any build up from the day easily and then can be removed either with dry cotton wool, water or a damp cloth. I tend to use the latter and take my eye make up off with the Simple Kind to Eyes Nourishing Eye Make Up Remover as I love to wear waterproof mascara, which can be stubborn.  The cleanser is extremely gentle and manages to clean the skin without that awful stripping tight feeling some cleansers leave, instead it leaves the skin's natural protective oils and emollients, resulting in your pH levels remaining balanced. It is fragrance free and perfect for those who do take medication for their skin or suffer from rosacea. However, having said how perfect it is for dry skin I do have combination skin and definite oily patches. This cleanser has been perfect for these areas as well so I think it would be a good for any skin type.

As I stated before my skin is in no way terrible but it always frustrates me that it is never better considering how much I do look after it. I have accepted that due to hormones and genetics it will never be the perfect radiant complexion I long for. However, since using this cleanser I have noticed that it is clearer and much softer. I use it morning and night and find it perfect for both occasions.

The packaging is nothing fancy but I do love the pump that it comes with as it easy to use, although not travel friendly!

You can purchase it for £8.99 from Boots

What is your go to cleanser?

    1. Same here! I was also a bit worried it would only be good for dry skin but it has been great for my combination complexion! x

  3. I wanted to try this for years now! I'm not too sure why I haven't got it yet, it sounds really good though.
