During a #bbloggers chat one week I asked what was everyone's favourite cleansing mask was as my beloved Origins Clay Cleansing Mask was on its last legs. I thought the much raved about Aesop Parsley Seed Mask would be the clear favourite but I was wrong, the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask was the one most people recommended.

Antipodes claims their award winning mask is deeply moisturising, cleansing and  has an anti-oxidising treatment. I agree in that this is an extremely nourishing product that cleanses and soothes blemishes but I do not feel it offers a deep cleanse or that it could sort out a nasty break out. Nonetheless I have really enjoyed using this each week. The manuka honey draws moisture to skin to keep it hydrated leaving it feeling soft and nourished. I hate it when a cleansing mask leaves your face feeling clean but tight, however this mask melts into the skin and moisturises whilst it cleanses.

I also love that this is like a moisturiser to apply and is not noticeable on the skin - it definitely makes wandering around the house in it less amusing for the boyfriend! It says to leave it for 15 minutes but I often end up leaving it for much longer. With other cleansing masks I normally feel I need a cleansing oil to remove the product as just warm water and a muslin cloth can feel too rough. This mask however is a dream. You only need a damp warm muslin cloth and it comes off as easily as it was absorbed in the first place. It leaves my skin feeling soothed and not stressed, which for my sensitive complexion is important.

It does state it can be used every evening but I have been using it once or twice a week when I feel my skin needs that extra bit of help. My skin had a bit of a tantrum recently and this product has definitely helped to calm it down. I would definitely recommend this to those who have sensitive skin or are put off by clay masks as it is a beautiful product.

You can buy it from Feel Unique for £21.50 but it is also available in most Health Food Stores in London.

What cleansing mask do you love?
