NYX Taupe Blush Review - A Perfect Contour?

NYX Taupe blush

I do not posses the most chiselled of cheekbones and have had my eye on both MAC Harmony (£18) and the Kevyn Aucoin Scuplting Powder (£35) for a while now. However both of these have considerable price tags so when I saw people talking about the NYX Taupe blush (£6) I knew I had to give the cheaper alternative a chance.

Swatch of NYX Taupe Blush

At first I was unsure of the pigmentation as only a small amount of product comes off on your finger or brush. Although this stops you from being too heavy handed and ending up with a Halloween inspired look it does not do enough to carve a beautiful bone structure into my face. I have found myself reaching for NARS Laguna Bronzer (see post here) over this on too many occasions as I don't think it makes enough of a difference. Maybe on paler skins the subtlety will be perfect but unfortunately for me it has not thwarted my cravings for the more expensive alternatives. The question now is which of those two do I cave and buy?

What is your favourite sculpting product?

  1. What a shame that the payoff isn't brilliant - at least it didn't break the bank getting it, that would have been even worse :o) Xx

  3. Such a shame this didn't work for you - though your note on it may be suitable for paler skins has me curious, I'm super pale and so may give this a whirl myself - thanks for the post!

  4. Where did you get the NYX products from? I really want to give their products a try! Are there any other NYX products you would recommend?

I'm a fan of Hoola bronzer for sculpting - but it can be too dark for me in the winter when I am paler!
