Skincare Samples - Perfect for a weekend away.

Hello my name is Louise and I am a massive hoarder. I’m a magpie to samples, especially the REN and Origins ones. I think it is just an amazing way to try out new products and they are just so travel friendly; especially if you are only away for a night or two and you do not want to be lugging your entire skincare collection with you! As I am away for the next few days (I’m currently writing this on the train) I thought I would share with you what I packed:

The Cleanser

Back in the day I loved Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, it is actually what got me hooked onto beauty blogs all those years ago. My mum had a rather large obsession with Dermalogica and whilst I still love a lot of their products back then they were a little out of my price range. I googled something like ‘What is a good cleanser?’ and it was how I found Anna from VDM and the rest lets say is history. This cleanser has a cult following and I completely understand why. It has a beautiful creamy consistency that when massaged into your skin takes off all your makeup leaving you with a fresh clean face. It comes with the incredibly soft muslin cloth which acts as an exfoliator to ‘polish’ your skin. I got this little friendly sized version with a muslin cloth with my voucher for a facial at their Kings Road Salon. I am actually really looking forward to using this later tonight.

The Night Duo

It is no secret that I love the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex (what a mouthful!) and when I bought the full size version I got this mini delight in a bag full of treats. I have already gone into detail about this pot of dreams here so I won’t say much more except it is bloody good!

The REN Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream is actually something I owned a full sized tube off last year and I loved it. The only reason I didn’t repurchase was because the beauty addict in me wanted to try something new! But I seriously love this moisturiser and think it works wonders for the skin. It is a fairly thick cream which helps to reduce signs of fatigue and fine lines leaving you fresh faced in the morning. I think this really works and if you are on the look out for a new night time moisturiser then I would urge you to pick this one up! Read about my other evening loves here (Origins) and here (Organic Surge).

The Day Trio

The Origins Plantscription Ant-Aging Eye Cream is something I always opt for when buying Origins samples online. It is just so darn nourishing and creamy, perfect for those bags in the mornings.

The moisturiser of choice is one I have actually not tried before but read good things about. The Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser for Normal/Combination skin claims to be a light nourishing cream full of natural ingredients which not only replenishes lost moisture but helps protect your skin. Sounds pretty perfect to me!

On a whim I also threw in this little bad boy, the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Bootser, for that extra oomph! You are supposed to massage this into any dry areas before moisturising and I am looking forward to giving it a go.

The Non - Sample Inclusion

Now I know this does not exactly fit with the theme of the post but I thought I would include it nonetheless seeing as it is an important product in my bag! I bought the Darphin Intral Toner with Chamomile on the recommendation of Caroline Hiron when meeting her in Space NK, read about my other purchases here. She said it was the toner she reached for most mornings and couldn’t praise it enough. If she loves it then I just know I will too! And I was right, this toner is amazing. I use it morning and evening and cannot get enough of the stuff. Caroline said you could decant it into a spray bottle and use it to hydrate your skin but as it is not cheap (£28) I think my bank balance would weep at the thought. I feel like this not only hydrates but really cleans my skin, reducing any redness and leaving my face feeling fresh and ready for the next product. The smell is divine and it has been a gamechanger for my complexion. An absolute winner!

I hope you enjoyed this ramble into my travel skincare!
What do you take on long trips?

X

P.S I would also like to apologise for the rubbish photography. I have left my camera charger at my parents house and just didn't want to stop blogging!

  2. My best friend is a pretty loyal Origins customer and she always gets a ton of samples when she stocks up which she ever so kindly passes on to me. One day I'll venture there myself because they're so good!
