Top 5 Make Up Products of 2013

Top 5 Make Up Products of 2013

1. Lip Crayons

This year I do not think I have reached for any type of makeup more than the variety of lip crayons which are on offer. I have the Clinque Chubby sticks, the Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains and recently Bourjois and Rimmel have joined in the fun. I have so many of these I have lost count and I really could not live without them. I prefer these to gloss or lipsticks as they are so moisturising, I find the longevity really good and they are affordable (especially on the Boots deals). My favourite in these colder months has definitely been the Revlon 005 Crush Beguin pictured above, as it is easy to add a subtle hint of colour or to build up into more of a lipstick pigmentation. I also love the nudes and brighter colours in the summer.

2. Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser

I wrote how Laura Mercier products are one of my favourites as my first ever post, here. I have used this consistently all year and absolutely love it. The oil free version is slightly heavier allowing it to even the skin tone and cover blemishes. It is more like a sheer foundation except it keeps my skin feeling moisturised and leaves a healthy glowing complexion which lasts throughout the day whatever the season.

3. Eyelash Curlers

I think this was one of the first products I bought on the recommendation from Anna and it was a complete game changer for how my makeup looks. Since then there has not been a day in the last few years that I have not used these. Having been blessed with short stubby blonde eyelashes I found this improved their length and completely changed how my eyes looked. They are not the cheapest at £20 but they are well worth the investment. The curl does not drop all day and they have lasted me years. Unfortunately for my bank balance my eyes are now on their latest addition! You can purchase them here.

4. Rimmel Blush in Santa Rose 020

I love this blush. I bought it after Meg raved about it in a few of her videos and have not stopped reaching for it since. It is a really soft natural pink with a hint of shimmer running through it. This flatters my skin tone in all seasons and although small you get a lot of product. The packaging isn't beautiful but its size makes it easy to carry around. Also it only costs £3.99. An absolute bargain!

5. Revlon Colorstay in Decadent

The fifth product was difficult to choose, there were many contenders which I absolutely adore but have only found in the last few months and I really wanted it to be something that I have reached for every month this year. This eyeshadow quad is much loved and it really is the easiest way to achieve the perfect smokey eye. Whenever I use this people compliment on my eyes and I don't think there has been an eyeshadow palate I have used more. It lasts all evening and I particular love the little diagram on the back to help out even the most novice of make up wearers.

What have been your top products of 2013?
