Kiehl's Meetup!

Firstly I would like to apologise for the length of time it has taken me to write another post. Having finally taken the plunge and started a blog I then had one of the busiest few weeks and everything got put on hold - typical! Though on a more positive note, I do now have lots of wonderful things to write about.

Yesterday, my lovely friend London Kat had parents evening and so begrudgingly she handed over her invite to the Kiehl's Meetup hosted by the lovely Anna and Lily at the Covent Garden store. I had the 8 o'clock slot which gave me the opportunity to wander around Covent Garden and take in all the festive Christmas lights (and have a cheeky mulled wine!)

Sadly this is not my own picture due to my limited phone battery and my stolen camera - sob!

The evening was an absolute success with the girls explaining their favourite Kielh's products before giving us the opportunity to wander around the store, filling our arms with discounted goodies. The staff were so polite and helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed my skin consultation, even if it did just confirm that I have slightly oily skin - lucky me! My skin at the moment is quite bad even though I am happy with my skincare routine. The lady explained to me that the position of my breakouts were most likely caused by stress/hormones (jawline) and diet (cheeks); as it has been an extremely stressful week followed by a very boozy weekend I cannot really be that surprised! These were her commendations if were I to go back another day:

L to R: Skin Rescuer, Centella Skin-Calming Facial Cleanser, Calendula Herbal Extract Toner
& Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate.

However, I picked up their Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrate  (what a mouthful!) as I was assured that this will reduce the signs of stress, diminishing redness and dehydration, whilst strengthening and protecting the skin barrier. I tried it this morning and the consistency was much thicker than I expected, nevertheless it still felt light and very hydrating on the skin. It was also the perfect base for my makeup. I am hoping to use this until my skin settles and then just incorporate it back into my routine when needed.

I met lots of wonderful people at the event, including the two lovely ladies themselves. The pair of them were gorgeous, friendly and chatty. They also let slip they are keen to organise another event which I would definitely attend. Throughout the evening we were offered delicious nibbles of pulled turkey on little toasts, portobello mushrooms sautéed and served with truffle oil and scrumptious mince pies small enough to eat in one mouthful, if you have a rather large mouth like myself. There were also refreshing drinks of non alcoholic mulled wine and elderflower cordial. It all ended with a goodie bag full of sachets and a sample of their Creme de Corps body moisturiser, which smells divine, and thier much raved about Ultra Face Cream

The only downside was I definitely did not spend enough, an unusual admission for me to say! And I was berated by the boyfriend when I got home for not picking him up any Face Fuel!

I would like to say a massive thank you to the kind people of Kiehls, as well as Anna and Lily. I had a really lovely time.

What is your favourite Kiehl's product?
Did you go to this event?
